Events 2007 In 2007 there was a full programme of fund raising events organised by family and friends of Jon Hayward including a ceilidh, a team in the Bridgnorth Walk, a midsummer luncheon, raffles, and a concert featuring several professional artistes from the folk world. Donations were also received and in a year nearly £10,000 was raised and the charity was registered with the Charity Commission. Ceilidh Village Hall was the venue in February 2007 for a ceilidh in memory of Jon. Friends and family gathered to dance to music performed by Jon's friends. The evening raised £1500 Luncheon The very successful Midsummer Luncheon was held at Holdgate near Much Wenlock, in a marquee that was offered to the charity for its use after a family celebration the previous day. Over 100 guests enjoyed a buffet lunch and were entertained by Ian Richardson & Andy Jones. The event raised £2000

Bridgnorth Walk 2007 The team that did the Bridgnorth Walk 2007 raised over £1500 Concert The fundraising concert 'Southernmost of Dales' was held on Saturday 13th October 2007 at William Brookes School, Much Wenlock, Shropshire. Artists featured included Swarbs Lazarus, Hoover the Dog, Harriet Bartlett, Cuckoo Oak, Geoff Bodenham, Ian Richardson & Andy Jones, with Bill Caddick as M.C. Sue says.... " with additional donations, Boat Christmas raffle etc, we now have over £9000. Hope to sort out how to start using it in detail in next few weeks - ran out of steam for a while!" |
